In February 2024 Something Dope put a Bakersfield open mic together on about a week of notice with Big Chop Management and Scene City 323, and the city showed all the way up.
The room went crazy for hometown talent like Vinny Schuetz, and the recap said it best: Bakersfield was surprisingly fire. Community got built that night.
